Leading SEO Consultants

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a programme of technical and creative modifications to a website at build phase or post-construction, designed to maximise the likelihood of a particular web page being found for relevant search terms on the internet. CL5 can advise, deliver and manage on all aspects of an optimisation plan.

The search engine optimisation industry grew out of an understanding that it is possible to technically manipulate a website to leapfrog a competitor's website in a search results page for a given keyword.

The attraction of search engines from a business perspective is that they effectively have the potential to generate sales referrals without a direct sales cost. Furthermore unlike many kinds of traditional advertising search engine users are active, rather than passive, consumers of information often looking to interact directly with a product or service  - and hence be more inclined to purchase.

However with estimates of the number of non-duplicated webpages indexed in Google around 1 trillion (2009 figure) it's clear that the SEO industry has had to adopt far smarter and broad-ranging solutions to achieve the same results for its clients.

The new SEO is about people, ideas, content  - not just IT. Organic SEO consultants are now part of a multi-million pound industry with standards, good practice and proven results.

Search Engine Specialists

Google ranking specialist
Google’s 87% domination of its share of the UK search engine market (source: HitWise Feb 2009) demonstrates the importance of your site being visible in Google.

For many companies the objective is solely to obtain a top 3 or page one ranking in Google against certain keyphrases or indeed to simply leapfrog their competition. CL5 is a search engine specialist and can manage this process on your behalf, with evidence of great results across a number of markets.

Submission to some of the long established but declining search engines such as Altavista, AlltheWeb and HotBot and automated submission to the thousands of minor global search engines is generally considered to be of little current value.

Syndicating content to YouTube, Facebook, eBay and the new generation of social media sites predicated on user-generated content is now far more significant and powerful. New search engines such as Cuil may yet eat into Google’s dominant market position. CL5 will help you to adopt and action accordingly.

: Bing and Yahoo! Positioning

The search engine landscape is changing with most reviews of search in consumer and business markets in the UK and US suggesting Bing and Yahoo!’s market share is dropping occupying 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Historical evidence from our clients’ web analytic records bears this out with Yahoo!/Bing generally combining to generate 10-15% of search traffic. They therefore remain an important element of our search marketing work and in some markets require increased focus eg: where demographics of the site users have a particular fit.
